Regarding assisted referral to mental health providers
The pediatrician is the first contact and other referral resources vary by location. For example, the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) consults families to provide a neutral referral resource meeting their need including:

  • specialty
  • availability
  • location
  • insurance
  • trust

This helpline service ‘holds’ each caller safely until engaged with the right provider, which is verified through follow-up. Any community may consult with MSPP about their Project INTERFACE model.
